Cartilaginous Joints

Video not yet published
to the StudyWalks catalog
State

A cartilaginous joint connects bones through cartilage, allowing limited movement while providing more flexibility than a fibrous joint and less than a synovial one.

Show

The joints between vertebral bodies, cushioned by fibrocartilage discs, allow the spine to bend within a limited range.

Watch for

Limited movement is not the same as no movement — a cartilaginous joint still flexes measurably under load.
