The Cyclin-Cdk Activation Cycle

Video not yet published
to the StudyWalks catalog
State

A cyclin-dependent kinase becomes fully active only after binding a cyclin and then being phosphorylated at a specific site, and that active complex is dismantled again once the cyclin it depends on is degraded.

Watch for

Cdk activity depends on two separate conditions holding at once, cyclin binding and site-specific phosphorylation — satisfying only one leaves the complex inactive.
