Premises can chain (serial: A supports B supports C), independently support one conclusion (convergent), or work only together (linked).

"He has a fever" and "he has a rash" converge on "he's sick." "All fish have gills" and "trout are fish" are linked — each is useless alone.
Watch for
Knocking out one convergent premise leaves the rest standing. Knocking out one linked premise fells the whole structure.
