Building a Coping Plan

Building a coping plan means listing each stressor, judging its controllability, matching a coping strategy to that judgment, and naming the support resource for each.

Show

One person's situation worked through completely: five stressors listed, each appraised for controllability, problem-focused strategies assigned to the three that are controllable, emotion-focused strategies to the two that are not, support identified for each, and one case where the strategy chosen first was the wrong match and is reassigned.
