Producing a complete case formulation means integrating biological, psychological, and sociocultural levels into a treatment plan and stating what each level can and cannot reach.

One case carried from first presentation to a written plan: symptoms checked against criteria, vulnerability and stressor identified, the biological contribution and what medication addresses, the maintaining thought and behavior patterns and the therapy matched to them, the social barriers that determine whether any of it happens, and the alliance the whole plan depends on. Ends by naming the plan's weakest point and how it would be detected.
