Frequency and Amplitude in Sound

Video not yet published
to the StudyWalks catalog
State

Sound frequency is the number of wave cycles per second and determines perceived pitch; amplitude determines perceived loudness.

Show

A tuning fork struck harder is louder at the same pitch, because amplitude changed and frequency did not.

Watch for

Pitch and loudness are perceptions. Frequency and amplitude are the physical properties behind them.
